What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. A practitioner channels energy into their client by what is described as ‘laying on of hands’. Through this technique, a “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to produce positive effects.
Rei and Ki are both Japenese words. Rei is often defined as ghost and Ki as vapor.
Reiki combines Japanese and Chinese characteristics of both words Rei meaning spiritual or supernatural and Ki which is vital energy.
Therapists who practice Reiki believe the vital energy can naturally heal.
Many people believe that Reiki will heal all aspects of one’s body.
Although there is no scientific proof that this method of healing will heal some of your physical ailments there is no harm in practicing this method, and it can help the healing of certain emotional ailments.
