How To Understand Auras: A Guide

Auric Hands

Auric HandsWhat Is This Phenomena And How Can You Understand Auras Better?

A presupposition of “glowing lights around the head” has remained prevalent throughout recorded history, though it was more frequently mentioned in Eastern cultures. However, modern understandings—including their relation to electromagnetic radiation and energy—did not begin until the 19th century when Charles Leadbeater (a theosophist) provided a treatise completely describing the aura and its colors. His work was later expanded on by Tommaso Palamidessi, an esotericist; and then W.E. Butler, a British occultist, who connected the phenomena as mental and emotional discharge (which became known as the etheric).

Auras: A Basic Understanding

For psychics—particularly clairvoyants—electro-photonic vibrations emit from every object, projecting energy fields of luminosity referred to as auras. Also known as a thing’s essence or spiritual signature, non-living objects (stones and crystals) have fixed energies; while conscious objects (people and plants) have adaptable ones that vary based on their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states.

For spiritual advisors, the seven energy fields of an aura reveal the real you (information about your thoughts, feelings, dreams, and so on) and can aid in a reading. The following will help you learn how to understand auras and how psychics may interpret them to help you discover new truths and change your life for the better.

The Seven Auric Levels

These combined fields of energy communicate with all information outside yourself that you come in contact with. And each layer has a specific purpose and its own characteristics to process and interact with that information:

Crown Chakra Image1.    Causal/Ketheric Template or Archetypal: “Destiny’s Navigator”
  • Width: 3-4 feet
  • Chakra: Crown
  • Associated Colors: Gold, Silver
  • Focus: Photographic negative of the mental and spiritual aspects

Also commonly referred to as the “divine aura,” as it is where a body’s fundamental spirituality dwells inside them. It is fundamentally an object’s life template—or map of destiny—with the unconscious mind guiding it.

Third Eye Chakra2.    Celestial or Spiritual: The “Aura Juggler”
  • Width: 2-3 feet
  • Chakra: Third Eye
  • Associated Colors: Mother of Pearl
  • Focus: Spiritual ecstasy

As a conduit for divinity, grounding a body’s spiritual health, this stage maintains balance between all levels—and by extension, their chakras.

Throat Chakra3.    Etheric Template: The “Body Builder”
  • Width: 1-2 feet
  • Chakra: Throat
  • Associated Colors: Blue, Grey
  • Focus: Illness, Blocks, and Negativity

This plane creates and maintains the physical body, as well as regulating the operating conditions of chakras and meridians. As such it promotes a healthful body, and when obstructed will result in disease/illness.

Heart Chakra4.    Astral or Imaginal: The “Creator of Circumstances”
  • Width: Up to 1 foot
  • Chakra: Heart
  • Associated Colors: Pastels (Pinks, Blues)
  • Focus: Capacity for love (both conditional and unconditional)

This level is known as the magical center—considering it manages the energy to impact physical surroundings as well as craft a body’s desires into reality. It is also the means to fulfill an object’s destiny by interpreting the “life map” of the seventh auric level.

Solar Plexus Chakra5.    Mental: The “Construction Foreman”
  • Chakra: Solar Plexus
  • Associated Colors: Yellow, Green, and Blue
  • Focus: Thoughts, Attitudes

Based on the destiny map in the Ketheric Template, this stage helps to manage a life’s experiences—fostering internal growth, balancing attitudes, and processing concepts about the world.

Belly Chakra6.    Emotional: “Life’s Driver”
  • Width: 1-3 inches
  • Chakra: Belly
  • Associated Colors: Variable
  • Focus: Emotions

Simply put, this plane is responsible for all actions and reactions of an object—and each emotion felt moves through all other levels of the aura.

Root Chakra7.    Etheric or Physical: The “Earthly Guidance of Experiences”
  • Width: Half-inch (and closest to the body)
  • Chakra: Root
  • Associated Colors: Grey, White, and Blue
  • Focus: Health

This level is often referenced as a 3-D reflection, or blueprint, of a physical body—where injuries to cellular patterns or emotional trauma is apparent.
